Question 1

How waterproof is the DJI Osmo Nano and the Vision Dock?

Accepted Answer

The DJI Osmo Nano Camera body is rated for underwater use to 10 metres without a housing. The Vision Dock is not submersible and provides IPX4 splash resistance only when attached, protecting against rain, sweat, and minor splashes. After underwater use, rinse the camera with fresh water and let it air-dry. Avoid high-impact water entry, hot springs, or corrosive liquids.

Question 2

Does the DJI Osmo Nano have any recording limitations?

Accepted Answer

RockSteady 3.0 and HorizonBalancing work up to 4K/60p, with HorizonBalancing compensating to approximately ±30°. Electronic stabilisation automatically disables in Slow Motion and Time-lapse modes. SuperNight operates at 8-bit and below 30 fps, and is not available in the 4:3 aspect ratio. For gyro data capture, disable EIS and set FOV to Wide before recording.

Question 3

How long does the DJI Osmo Nano battery last, and how fast does it charge?

Accepted Answer

In controlled tests at 25°C, recording 1080/24p with RockSteady on, Wi-Fi off, and the screen off, the DJI Osmo Nano runs for up to 90 minutes. With a fully charged Vision Dock attached, total runtime reaches up to 200 minutes under the same conditions. Endurance mode enables over 50 minutes at 4K/60p. With a suitable PD charger, the camera charges to about 80% in roughly 20 minutes.

Question 4

Can I switch the DJI Osmo Nano between horizontal and vertical mid-recording?

Accepted Answer

No. Orientation must be chosen before you start capturing. The DJI Osmo Nano supports both horizontal and vertical shooting, and the Dock’s OLED screen and controls make it quick to confirm your settings before recording. Pre-Rec can help if you are framing an unpredictable moment and want the lead-in saved.

Question 5

How does storage function between internal memory and a microSD card?

Accepted Answer

The DJI Osmo Nano records to its internal storage. The Vision Dock’s microSD slot is used for exporting files from the camera to free up space and for convenient hand-off. Formatting from the camera interface wipes the selected storage completely, so back up essential clips first.

Question 6

Can the DJI Osmo Nano display be operated in bright outdoor environments?

Accepted Answer

The DJI Osmo Nano features a 1.96″ OLED touchscreen with 800-nit maximum brightness, providing clear visibility even in direct sunlight. The interface is designed for fast switching between modes and precise framing, making it simple to stay in control when capturing action in bright outdoor conditions.
