Question 1

How does the Panasonic Lumix GH7 differ from the GH6?

Accepted Answer

The Panasonic Lumix GH7 builds upon its predecessor, the GH6, to offer improved results for photography and video. The GH7 introduces a new 25.2MP BSI CMOS sensor, improved AF performance with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), enhanced stabilisation technology with perspective distortion correction for videos and High mode in Active I.S., and Apple ProRes RAW internal recording. Improvements to video include higher-resolution 5.7K 30p ProRes 422 HQ and ProRes RAW HQ internal recording, 5.8K 30p Open Gate recording, and 5.7K 60p ProRes/B RAW recording via HDMI, compared to the GH6’s Cinema 4K 120p/100p or 4K 120p/100p output over HDMI. When an XLR adaptor is attached, the GH7 is capable of 32-bit float audio recording, a world first, while the built-in microphone matches the 2-channel 48kHz 24-bit quality of the GH6.

Question 2

What memory cards is the Panasonic Lumix GH7 compatible with?

Accepted Answer

The Panasonic Lumix GH7 has two memory card slots and is compatible with CFexpress Type B cards and SD, SDHC, and SDXC cards. However, it is only compatible with UHS-I/UHS-II UHS Speed Class 3 standard SDHC/SDXC Memory Cards and UHS-II Video Speed Class 90 standard SDXC Memory Cards.

Question 3

Is the Panasonic Lumix GH7 waterproof?

Accepted Answer

The Panasonic Lumix GH7 is splash- and dust-resistant and freeze-resistant down to -10 degrees Celsius/14 degrees Fahrenheit for enhanced durability, but it is not waterproof. While it can withstand minor interactions with dust and water, it is not guaranteed to prevent damage when exposed to it in large amounts.

Question 4

Accepted Answer

The Lumix GH7 has practical connectivity options that ensure you can achieve a production-quality setup for impressive results. The input/outputs included are an HDMI Type A, a 2.5mm remote input, a 3.5mm jack for external microphones/audio equipment and headphones, and two slots for memory cards.
